I don’t know much about Mike Montgomery’s childhood, but I imagine it included a lot of people telling him that he can’t make a career out of punk rock and skateboarding - but that’s pretty much exactly what he’s done.
Mike has taken his passion for music, recording and skating and turned it into what might be considered a dream job. If he hasn’t played with some of Greater Cincinnati’s biggest (and best) bands, there’s a good chance he’s either recorded or toured with them.
In various incarnations since the 1990s, Mike has owned and operated Candyland Recording Studio whose clientele reads like a who’s who of local and regional musicians.
Candyland now shares space in Dayton, KY with Christopher Mueller’s SofaBurn Records in what may be the perfect marriage for recording, production and distribution.
SofaBurn is also home to SofaGives - a project focused on giving back to the local community, wherever or however it may be needed.
