I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the extended SofaBurn Family for an amazing 2016. We are looking forward to an even better 2017.
Some key things that happened in 2016 in addition to our wonderful releases were a partnership with Mike Vallely and the folks at Street Plant, securing Distribution through Alternative Distribution Alliance/ Warner Music Group, our own stage at the Dayton Music Art & Film Festival and several appearances in the SofaBurn Presents Film series.
In addition to all of this, SofaBurn charitably gifted to 5 different organizations.
2017 already has several albums slated for release as well as a Vinyl Compilation of Previously Unreleased Material slated for Record Store Day.
It will also see the launch of our SofaGives program which will serve as the subsidiary gifting program of SofaBurn.
For 2017, the SofaGives program will pick one Charity every month for 12 months for gifting. During each month, for every physical order that is placed through our website, SofaBurn will donate $1 to the selected Charity for that month. For January, the agency we will be donating to is Paws and Claws Animal Rescue, Inc.
In 2006 I started SofaBurn as a way to put out my own albums. Seeing what it has become 10 years later warms my heart. I see meaning in the work that everyone is doing. Like our artists, I care very deeply about music and the importance of it on our lives, now more than ever.
