Record Stores that carry our catalog.
Welcome to the online home to the Shake It Records storefront, label and mailorder. A lil' history…the Shake It Records Label was started by Jess Hirbe & Doc Kalmus in 1978 as a way to issue records from local no-goods - mainly The Customs. It sat dormant for most of the 1980's until it was revived to issue The Mortals "The One" 7' in 1993. Since then, the label's present owners have released (or will soon release) albums, CD's & 7"s from The Ass Ponys, Nomads, Hogscraper, Hasil Adkins, The Cowslingers, Tigerlilies, Long Gones, Thee Shams, Pearlene, Man or Astroman? Dalhart Imperials, Eric Kinsey & His Tip-Top Daddies, Crimson Sweet, Wussy, Dan Melchior, John Doe (1200 Hobos), Viva La Foxx, The Not, Glue, Customs, Mr. Dibbs, Greenhornes & more.

"Younger Than Yesterday" is the retail wing of a company begun in 1984 as 'The Peoria Record Company', not surprisingly located in Peoria, Illinois, by CRAIG MOORE. Craig started buying & selling records in 1978 in the early days of 'record shows', then moved into mail order through Goldmine ads in 1980, and after promoting the very first record show in Peoria in May of 1984, the retail store opened that fall. The operation moved to the current location in 1998, adopting the more evocative name borrowed from one of Craig's all-time favorite groups, The Byrds. The store features a vast, constantly changing & growing array of used & new LP's, 45's, CD's, cassettes, videos, DVD's, box sets and memorabilia.
