Katatonia - “Departer”

“I love the gothic balladry Katatonia does so well. Dark, beautiful, all emotion.”

 Elliot Smith - “Angeles”

“An amazing song by possibly the best songwriter we’ve ever heard.”

David Gilmour - “In Any Tongue”

“I’ve always loved Pink Floyd and especially DG’s guitar playing and smooth, warm voice. His solo records really target what a Floyd fan loves about the band. Powerful lyrics as well.”

Yes - “And You and I”

“A killer song that takes you on a journey. Yes are musical kings.”

Bon Iver - “29 #Strafford APTS”

“I’m obsessed with Bon Iver. He creates absolute magic. Very much changed my songwriting approach.”

The Black Crowes - “Sometimes Salvation”

“Raw and powerful. The Crowes are in my opinion the best American rock ‘n’ roll band. Period.”

Adrian Belew - “Three of a Perfect Pair”

“A reminder that your acoustic song doesn’t have to be so goddamn boring. Masterfully created song and master guitarist.”

Gregory Alan Isakov - “She Always Takes It Back”

“An absolute beauty of a song. Undeniable.”

Gerry Rafferty - “Right Down the Line”

“A song I’ve loved since I was a tiny tot. I still hear it a couple times a week and it gets better every time. Smooth and emotional delivery.”

Jethro Tull - “Journeyman”

“Favorite band. Period. Turning folk songs into progressive rock masterpieces. There’s just no one better.”

Shudder To Think - “Earthquakes Come Home”

“The first time I heard or really took notice of a prog rock punk band. They absolutely changed the way I think about music and writing. Genius stuff.”

Kill Creek - “Biggest Rift”

“Emo at its finest. The pain in his voice is devastating to me.”
